Top of Utah Marathon and St. George trip. WARNING A LOT OF PICTURES

This is the High School Musical 2 pool at Entrada. It was fun.

We took a fun hike to Red Cliffs State Park, a perfect hike for kids.

Kent jumped off the roof of the house a few times, the kids thought it was cool.

My parents loved the house and the pool. My mom spent a lot time of time in the pool playing with the kids.

We had this pool all to ourselves the entire vacation, it was heavenly.

Kent was such a big part of this, supporting me in training and the race.

My sister in law Tara was there, we did not see each other the entire race but this was her 28th marathon.

This is about mile 22 but it felt like 42!! It was tough.

My kids were there and so was my dad, it was so great to have the support.

On Sept. 19th, I ran in the Top of Utah Marathon in Logan, Utah, 26.2 miles. I trained hard all summer with my friend Tina and we ran the marathon together. We had to wake up at 3:15 am on the day of the Marathon, drive one hour to Logan and then catch a bus up the canyon to the starting line. The first 18 miles I did great, it was a good run to that point, I even was hanging on pretty good at mile 22. At mile 23 I hit my wall and hit it hard, I walked through the drink stations and I did not think I could go another step. I still had 3 miles left, I continued running through the pain and at this point it was all mental, I had to keep telling myself I could do it. When I had a mile and half left Kaycee met me and ran the last little bit with me. She kept talking me through it and telling me I could do it, I was so thankful for her, she kept saying "You can do it MOM!" "You can do it!" We held hands through the finish line, I am so glad she was there. I felt pretty good after, my legs did seize up and I was hobbling around but I kept moving and got a massage (they were free, 15 minute massages) It hurt so bad and felt so good at the same time. The next three days brought on major soreness, I had to crawl up and down the stairs for the first day and then each day it got better and better. I took a week off we we went to St. George and stayed at Kent's boss's house. It was a 7,000 sq foot house, with a private outdoor pool and hottub. My parents came down with us and we spent most of our time at pool, the gorgeous pool. We went on one hike, Kent and I golfed 9 holes, we ate out once but other than that we spent time swimming and playing pool at the house. The last day we were there we went to the Entrada Club pool, this is where High School Musical 2 was filmed and we swam in the pool for a few hours, the girls loved swimming where Troy and Gabriella swam. Everyone had so much fun! It was hard to come back and face reality of homework and life.
